Severe thunderstorm

We had a severe thunderstorm yesterday afternoon. Knocked out the lights and cable. Couldn't get online or watch tv last night. So I missed Doctor Who. Did anyone see it? 
We finally got cable and internet back sometime this afternoon.  But that storm was really bad. Sounded like a small tropical storm. We got leaves in the yard and couple of broken limbs.
