got my results back

Well, my thyroid is hyperactive. She didn't put me on the same medicine which was PTU. She has put me on Tapazole(Methimazole) Has anyone heard about this? After reading the syptoms list, I'm kind of leary about taking this since my blood count is low.  How can she overlook this? Should I call on monday and ask her if I can take something else? I really don't want to do radioactive iodine.   I think you have to be out a week of work and stay away from everyone. Kind of depressed right now.
