questions about usb sticks!

I need your help flist on usb sticks! I was wondering if I could use a different stick on my pc or do I have to use the same kind? I had bought a scandisk 8gb today and tried it on mine, but it wouldn't work. But yet it worked on my mom's pc.  The first one that I bought is a pny 4 gb stick. I was wondering if anyone could help me out on this? Thanks!

Have you tried to use it on another port? For example, if you try to use it in a monitor or keyboard port the high capacity ones overwork the port so it doesn't show. Aslo, look at My Computer and see if it shows up there-if not, look at your auto-read settings. Hope it helped.

*HUGS* Thanks! I tried another port and it worked! I've already half way filled up the 8gb. Might have to get another one!
