A Changling’s Destiny
 

Walter Strickland grimaced when he felt the tug of someone else’s heart other than Barbara’s. His brow furrowed. <i> Who could it be…who…</i> he thought worriedly as he paced in his office.   

A portal opened up and he gasped. Seeing a young girl about Jim Lake’s age being tortured in front of his eyes. 

“Where did you get that sword?” The dark haired witch screeched. 

“I am half blood.” The girl kept repeating. 

While the others were watching Walter saw a woman. A woman he hadn’t seen in 19 years as sweat broke out on his forehead, “Alexandria Prince? Is that our child?” he roared into the portal. 

Alexandria paused, “Shit.”  And turned towards where the portal is. “Yes, Walter and now isn’t a good time to discuss…” 

Her eyes widened when he stepped out in his true form, battle ready.  “No one harms my daughter.” He growled. 

The dark haired witch turned and gasped, then look back at the girl. 

Lucius snapped out of it when he saw Alexandria and headed towards her. “If you can get our family out of this.” 

Walter glared at Lucius, “You were suppose to be looking out for them.” 

“Now isn’t the time.” Alexandria hissed back to her cousin and Walter as Bellatrix advanced. 

“She was telling the truth. A half blood changling?” Bellatrix cackled and gasped for air when Walter used his power to push her back. 

Draco was trying to rouse Hermione awake. “Come on Hermione, your parents needs your help!” 

She fluttered her eyes open, “Ferret? What are you talking about? My parents are in Australia.” 

Draco sighed pointing to the changling and his Aunt Alexandria. “They’re your real parents. Your half blood. Come on.” He pulled her up gently. 

She nervously stood in front of her parents. “Hi, I’m Hermione.” 

Walter Strickland gazed at his daughter, memorizing her. “I have to go back to my realm.” 

“But you just got here.” Alex argued with him softly, before he kissed her. 

“Hermione, I am a changling. If I don’t go back now, my superiors will know about you and I will not let anyone harm you.” Walter laid a hand on his daughter’s shoulder as he changed back to his human appearance. 

Alexandria looked at her daughter. “ I am Lady Alexandria Prince, your mother.  And of course you know Lucius and Draco are your cousins. 

Hermione hugged her father,  “I want to go with you.” 

“But…” Walter started to stutter. 

“Hermione is the top of our class. She’s Gryffindor and head girl. Very smart and knows her stuff.” 

“Let me come help you as well.” Severus appeared out of nowhere. 

“Severus?” Alexandria questioned. 

“My position has been comprised as spy. I am in love with Hermione.” 

“Then if you two go, I’m coming as well.” Alexandria spoke clearly. 

Walter thought “I’m doomed.” 

“No you’re not, you’ve got family now.” Alexandria whispered into his ear before the four of them jumped into the portal. </lj-cut>
